THE M61 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 3 NORTHBOUND & SOUTHBOUND EXIT SLIP & LINK ROADS TO A666 KEARSLEY SPUR LINK) & A580 (LINK ROAD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the M61 Motorway, in the Borough of Bolton, in the County of Greater Manchester, to enable resurfacing, carriageway repairs, renewal of road markings and road studs, reinstatement of traffic detector loops, and other general maintenance works; to be carried out in safety.
that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the M61 Motorway, in the Borough of Bolton, in the County of Greater Manchester, to enable resurfacing, carriageway repairs, renewal of road markings and road studs, reinstatement of traffic detector loops, and other general maintenance works; to be carried out in safety.
The Order will ban all traffic from the following sections of the M61 Motorway and A580 Trunk Road:
i. the M61 southbound exit link road at Junction 3 to the A666/A6053, from the last point where it leaves the M61 southbound carriageway, to the first point where it joins the A666/A6053 roundabout at Kearsley Spur;

ii. the northbound M61 exit slip road leading to the A666/A6053 roundabout at Kearsley Spur;

Hi. the A580 westbound to M61 northbound/ A666 northbound link road, from a point 785 metres south east of Kearsley Moss Railway Bridge, to a point 350 metres north west of Kearsley Moss Railway Bridge. Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M61 and M60 Motorways, the A580 and A666 Trunk Roads, and local roads will be well signed. The works are expected to be in place overnight between 20:00 hours and 05:00 hours (continuing to 07:00 hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings), during a period starting on Monday 30 April 2018 and ending on Friday 25 May 2018. However, work may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights until completed. The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, winter maintenance or traffic officer vehicles and will only apply during such times and to such extent as will be indicated by traffic signs.
