ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 THE BOROUGH OF WARRINGTON (TRANS PENNINE TRAIL, FIDDLERS FERRY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WALKING AND CYCLING) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, the Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of walking and cycling on The Trans Pennine Trail Cycle Track, Fiddlers Ferry, from its junction with Penketh Footpath No. 5 immediately west of the grounds of the Ferry Tavern to its junction with Penketh Footpath No. 5 immediately east of the grounds of the Ferry Tavern, will be closed to pedestrians and cyclists. The Order will be effective from Thursday 11th January 2018 for 6 months as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works, however access to properties within the area will be maintained. The alternative route for cycling will be via Carter House Bridge, Tan House Lane, Moss Bank Road, Gorsey Lane, Bennett's Lane, Widnes Road, Warrington Road, Penketh Road, Old Liverpool Road, Barnard Street, Forrest Way and vice versa.
The alternative route for walking will be via Penketh Footpath No. 5 around the front of the Ferry Tavern. The closure is required to allow for the investigation and appropriate remedial works following subsidence. DATED 4th January 2018 Ref: HIGH/1833
