ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF PEDESTRIANS -Public Footpath No. 19 (Part) Parish of Middlewich
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on that length of Public Footpath No. 19 Middlewich which commences from Pochin Way at OS grid reference SJ 7129 6600 and runs in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 430 metres to OS grid reference SJ 7158 6568.
The closure is necessary whilst construction works immediately adjacent to the footpath are carried out and works to upgrade the surface of the footpath are undertaken. The works are expected to take approximately six months to complete. The Order came into force on 4 January 2022 and will continue in force for a period of six months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. An alternative route is available along the pavement of Erf Way and Pochin Way. Pedestrians are advised to follow the alternative route.
