NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (PUBLIC FOOTPATH NUMBER 4, ST MARY'S RADCLIFFE) PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2021 The above Order was made on 14 October 2021 under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980. If confirmed the effect of the Order will be to extinguish the footpath described in the Schedule to this notice as shown on the Order map. A copy of the Order and map may be requested by email at

or seen free of charge at the reception desk at Town Hall, Bury BL9 OSW from 9am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday and one copy will be provided upon request.

Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to the Head of Engineering, Public Rights of Way, at 3 Knowsley Place, Bury, BL9 OEJ or by email to

prowconsult@burv.gov.uk

by 19 November 2021. Please state the grounds on which it is made. Please note that all representations received may be considered in public by the Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order or if any so made are withdrawn the Council may instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it Schedule

The public right of way over the land situate and running parallel to the Bury to Altrincham Metrolink Line at Hinds Lane, Radcliffe and shown by a continuous bold line on the map attached to this Order shall be extinguished after seven days from the date of confirmation of this Order and thereupon the Definitive Map and Statement for Bury shall be modified accordingly.
