THE A533 (MERSEY GATEWAY BRIDGE) AND THE A557 (SILVER JUBILEE BRIDGE) ROAD USER CHARGING SCHEME ORDER 2020

CONSULTATION

Halton Council is undertaking consultation in connection with the proposal to update the A533 (Mersey Gateway Bridge) and the A557 (Silver Jubilee Bridge) Roads User Charging Scheme Order 2018 ("Order") between 23 September 2020 and 14 October 2020 inclusive.

The new order will be called the A533 (Mersey Gateway Bridge) and the A557 (Silver Jubilee Bridge) Road User Charging Scheme Order 2020 (the proposed Order).

The proposed Order, if made, will revoke the A533 (Mersey Gateway Bridge) and the A557 (Silver Jubilee Bridge) Roads User Charging Scheme Order 2018, and replace it with a new Charging Scheme in substantially the same form, but with the following changes:

a) Updating the scheme layout drawings to reflect the new road configuration following the Silver Jubilee Bridge delinking work in Runcorn;



b) Moving the tables of charges from within the Order itself to a Schedule to the Order; and



c) Proposing Her Majesty's Coastguard emergency response vehicles to be capable of registering for exemption of toll charges for use of the Mersey Gateway and Silver Jubilee Bridges (the Bridges).

Responses to the consultation questionnaire can be completed online electronically at

or in writing and sent to Mersey Gateway Crossings Board/Consultation, c/o Halton Borough Council, Halton Direct Link, Brook St, Widnes. WA8 6NB, to be received before 14 October 2020.

The Council will consider all consultation responses received before the specified date in determining whether or not to make the proposed Order.
