ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 THE A1(M) MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 50)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on
the A1(M) Motorway and the A61 Trunk Road, in the District of Harrogate, in the County of North
Yorkshire, to enable lighting replacement works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Monday 20 January 2020 for 4 nights or until completed and
will take place between 8pm and 6am.
The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, to:
(i) impose a temporary 40mph speed restriction on the A61 single carriageway connecting the eastern and western dumbbell roundabout at Baldersby Interchange, a distance of 215 metres;

(ii) close the A1(M) northbound and southbound entry and exit slip roadsat junction 50 (Baldersby Interchange); and

(iii) close the footway situated adjacent to the carriageway mentioned in (i). During the road closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available.

The Order comes into force on 19 January 2020 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (SCOTCH CORNER INTERCHANGE TO BOWES INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A66 Trunk Road, in the Counties of North Yorkshire and County Durham, to enable parapet replacement, carriageway resurfacing, road marking, vegetation clearance and rail fence erection works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Thursday 23 January 2020 for 4 weeks, or until completed. The effect of the Order will be to impose, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to impose a temporary:
(i) 50mph and 40mph and 10mph speed restriction on the A66 eastbound carriageway from 1100 metres west of Clint overbridge to the eastbound exit slip road Bowes Interchange, a distance of 1573 metres;

(ii) 50mph and 10mph speed restriction on the A66 westbound carriageway from 1925 metres east of Bowes Interchange to a 2895 metres east of Bowes Interchange, a distance of 970 metres;

(iii) 40mph and 10mph speed restriction on the A66 eastbound carriageway from 1100 metres west of Clint overbridge to the eastbound exit slip road at Bowes Interchange, a distance of 1573 metres;

(iv) 40mph and 10mph speed restriction on the A66 carriageway from the eastbound exit slip road at Bowes Interchange to a point 1948 metres east of the eastbound exit slip road at Bowes Interchange, a distance of 1948 metres;

The 10mph speed restriction will only apply when, for safety reasons, traffic has to be escorted
through the works by a highway maintenance vehicle.
Sideroad
It will be necessary, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to:
(i) Close the A66 eastbound and westbound carriageway from the westbound entry slip road at Scotch Corner Interchange to the eastbound exit slip road at Bowes Interchange, a distance of

25000 metres;
(ii) close the gap in the A66 central reserve at Bowes Interchange approximately 525 metres west of Clint overbridge; and

(iii) ban vehicles from entering or leaving the A66 eastbound and westbound carriageways at their junctions with New Lane, Waitlands Lane, Collier Lane, Fox Hall Inn, Fox Hall Cottage, Fox Grove and Foxwell Cottage.

During the closures suitable signed alternative routes will be available.
It will also be necessary for 24 hours a day for the duration of the works, to close the laybys adjacent situated adjacent to the carriageway mentioned in (v).
Access will be maintained at all times to premises and property which are accessible from, and only
from, the A66.
The Order comes into force on 22 January 2020 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (WEST LAYTON TO ROKEBY)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A66 Trunk Road, in the County of North Yorkshire and County Durham., to enable wire rope safety barrier replacement works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Friday 24 January 2020 for 1 month, or until completed. The effect of the Order will be, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to:
(i) impose a temporary 10mph speed restriction on the A66 eastbound and westbound carriageways from 400 metres west of Barnard Castle Junction to 150 metres east of Barnard Castle Junction, a distance of 550 metres. The 10mph limit will only apply when, for safety reasons, traffic has to be escorted through the works by a highway maintenance vehicle; and

(ii) close the gaps in the A66 central reservation adjacent to Barnard Castle Junction, The Street Junction and from approximately 421 metres east of The Street Junction.

It will also be necessary, 24 hours a day, for the duration of the works, to:
(i) impose a temporary 50mph and at times a 40mph speed restriction on the A66 eastbound and westbound carriageways from 850 metres west of Dick Scott Lane Junction to 135 metres west of Barnard Castle Junction, a distance of 5860 metres;

(ii) impose a temporary 40mph speed restriction on the A66 carriageway from 180 metres east of Moorhouse Lane Junction to 135 metres west of Barnard Castle Junction, a distance of 2770 metres; and

(iii) close the layby adjacent to the A66 eastbound carriageway approximately 525 metres west of Clint overbridge, which will be used as an abnormal load holding area.; and

(iv) close the layby adjacent to the A66 westbound carriageway approximately 500 metres west of Scotch Corner Roundabout, which will be used as an abnormal load holding area.

The Order comes into force on 23 January 2020 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works, to anyone engaged in the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes).
