ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (KAY STREET BRIDGE, SUMMERSEAT) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2019 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles, cycles or horses from proceeding along:-

Full extent of Kay Street Bridge, Summerseat (Bridge over the River Irwell between Waterside Road and Kay Street)
The reason for the proposed order is to enable contractors to carry out remedial works on a bridge damaged by flooding.
The alternative route will be via Manchester Road, Bury New Road, Bridge Street,
Bolton Street, Bolton Road West and Longsight Road and vice versa.
The proposed Order will come into operation on Thursday 21 November 2019 and
shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months.
