Everything from your local knitting club to charities, childcare nurseries to yoga classes in Trafford can now be found at a click of a button. A new online database listing hundreds of community groups has been launched at www.trafford.gov.uk/communitygroups. Local groups can raise their profile and reach a wider audience by promoting their presence on the internet, through Trafford Council's new online community database. As well as providing key information about the group such as meeting times, venues and contact details the facility can be used to recruit volunteers, available 24 hours a day from any location with access to the internet. Visit www.trafford.gov.uk/communitygroups if you want to add your organisation to the database. If you don't have your own internet you can access it for free at any Trafford library. Just ask a member of staff for details.

Action for Sustainable Living, in partnership with Trafford Council, is hosting a Natural Products Event, on 14 October, from 6:30-8:30pm. The event will be held at Victoria Park Infants School, Henshaw Street, Stretford. There will be information about the benefits to the environment and our own health by stopping the use of chemical products in our homes. There will be workshops showcasing natural products and visitors will also get the chance to find out how to make their own soap and cleaning materials from simple ingredients which can be found around the house.
