HOW can a comedy night have the audience laughing till they cried, when all the jokes were ‘clean’ and inoffensive?

By being an Interfaith Comedy Night, that’s how!

I kid you not, we’ve not laughed so much for ages, or had such a fun night out. There was Christian, Muslim, Jewish and Bahai humour recently, at the Comedy Store in Manchester, conveniently placed as it is underneath the tram station at Deansgate.

It’s lovely, spacious and well run (I admit we had never been there before) and the comedians/comedienne were polished, clever and…well, funny!

And no, I can’t tell you any of the jokes because I always forget the punchline. I do remember laughing at the story of the Muslim guy who agreed to become Godfather to a Catholic child, but it’s too long to repeat, here.

Whether it was the interfaith element that made it so good, or whether it was that the jokes never went beyond ‘risqué’ I can’t be sure…but, if another one is organised, be sure to book. You won’t be disappointed.
