RE: ‘I have to stay true to myself’ (SAM, August 9)

I WOULD like to say a massive thank you to Rick Bowen for the wonderful story he did about me.

It was well written and I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Since the article was written, people have come up to me to tell me what a fantastic story it was.

I was even hugged by one lady in the Scope shop.

I have been overwhelmed by the response and I thank you all for your support, your kind words have touched my heart and will be remembered for a long time.

By the time this gets printed, I will have done an interview for Radio Manchester. This wouldn't be happening if it wasn't for the wonderful story in the Messenger.

I hope one day to talk about my life in more detail and hope to give strength to the people who need it.

Until then, take care you wonderful people and to any transgendered people out there – stay strong, keep your head up high and be proud of who you are.
