Stop Tatton from turning into a theme park

CHESHIRE East Council and developer Bure Valley Adventures want to build an outdoor adventure theme park – BeWILDerwood – in Tatton Park.

The development will cut down more than 75 mature trees and build a car park for 1,500 vehicles on 50 acres of historical arable farmland.

Wildlife, arboriculture, flaura and fauna which thrive in a hitherto unspoilt area of Tatton Park will be destroyed.

Woodland ponds will home animatronic animals and ancient woodland trees will be damaged to walkways. Also included in the plans are 1km of railway, a train station, four food outlets and shopping space.

Towns and villages surrounding Tatton Park can expect to be choked with traffic as cars will ferry the majority of the projected 1,250 to 5,000 daily visitors to the development at weekends and school holidays.

Shockingly, the National Trust , which owns Tatton Park, is in favour of the development.

The Save Tatton Action Group (STAG) is fighting the plans.
