Take care when using car park

I WOULD like to inform your readers that if they park at the retail park in Broadheath, to only park between the white lines, and not to leave the park area, ie pop across the road to another shop.

If you are not between the lines you may receive a fine of £90, and if you stray off the park, it’s also £90.

I was under the impression that the local traders wanted our trade, but with heavy fines like this I’m not so sure.

Or park inside the lines, it's not hard.

Don't pay it! They are trying to charge you £90 up front for alleged breach of contract. They would need to take you to court to make a claim of breach of contract and even then it is very doubtful that any compensation would be awarded to them as there is no material loss. Ignore the ticket and wait to see what they will do. It would cost them a lot more in administration to take you to court.

By entering the car park there is an assumption that you have read the fine print notices on the lamposts that say you agree to this, that and the other. It's nonsense.

Don't confuse this with a public car park owned by the council though!
