Urmston needs regeneration too

I NOTE with great interest that Peel Holdings has objected to plans to put a convenience store on the land of the old Greyhound pub on Manchester Road in Partington because they feel it will affect their plans for regeneration.

Could Peel Holdings and Trafford Borough Council please explain to me just WHY, then, they think that by putting a Morrisons supermarket next to the retail park is such a good idea when Urmston town centre is in such desperate need of regeneration.

It is obvious to me and anybody else who reads the local papers and lives in the borough that it's Peel Holdings who decide what is or isn't good for Trafford and not our council.

Come on Trafford Council, stand up to them and put your foot down.

We don't need another supermarket in Urmston, traffic is a nightmare as it is.

Let them put it in the Trafford Centre car park if it's so important to them!
