Help is at hand

I AM just writing in praise of Shopmobility in Regents Road car park.

I am only in my 50s but because of ill health I have found walking to be increasingly difficult.

Following a few falls a couple of years ago, I lost all confidence in going out even to do my weekly shop.

About a year ago I contacted Shopmobility and my life completely changed. It cost me £30 a year to sign up and for that I have can use their equipment whenever I like.

They have a good range of scooters and manual and electric wheelchairs.

Most importantly they have a team of volunteers who are dedicated to improving the lives of people like me – from the patient lessons in the car park to continuing encouragement and support.

Over the past 12 months I have been to open air pop festivals, a night at the opera (getting there on public transport), travelled on numerous trains as well as my weekly trip to Altrincham town, market and supermarkets. And all using equipment supplied by Shopmobility.

Twelve months ago I felt that my active life was effectively over. I could never have imagined that through their support and encouragement I would be able to do so much. I won’t name names but they know who they are!

If you feel they could help you please do get in touch – they are only to pleased to be able to help!

This little charity is worth its weight in gold.
