Community spirit

SHOULD the public become the eyes and the ears of the police?

I wrote to Nick Herbert, MP at the Home Office, and was told that: “The Government welcome the enthusiasm of local people to get involved in keeping their communities safe.”

We have already been asked to ‘shop a looter’ after last year’s riots.

How about using our mobile phone cameras to do the same when we see an offence being committed and thus keep our communities safe?
