The deselection of Kathy Bullock is a disgrace
11:23am Monday 30th April 2012 in Your Letters
I WAS shocked to read that Kathy Bullock has been de-selected as a Conservative councillor for the Brooklands ward.
I was fortunate enough to work with Kathy when she was the councillor for the Broadheath ward in our fight against a large Tesco development. I have lived in Timperley for more than 30 years and I have never met a more dedicated and committed councillor who has devoted herself to her work and with great success.
Whether it has been helping with communities such as ours, or helping individuals raise their grievances with the council, she has pursued them with equal vigour. I simply cannot imagine that someone as dedicated to her work could be de-selected by the Conservative Party who she has faithfully served for decades.
They ought to be ashamed of themselves.
I think it is a disgrace and I hope other residents of this borough who have benefited from Kathy’s help and support, particularly those in the Brooklands ward, will voice their own opinion at the local by-election on May 7.
