A simple request to the receptionist would have been enough

I WRITE in response to the letter in this week's Messenger concerning the A & E waiting room at Trafford General Hospital (Red card for hospital football).

People with non-urgent complaints invariably have to wait for some time in the waiting room but most do not bring anything to occupy their time. The television has been provided for this purpose – a simple request to the receptionist would have enabled the channel to be changed, as long as the other patients were in agreement.
