WE recently lost our rabbit, Ronnie, after months of intensive care.

The Society for Abandoned Animals gave no end of help to us and gave our lovely Ronnie the most fantastic send off when he could fight no more.

They made the afternoon so special and it will be one that we will never forget.

When we arrived they unveiled a lovely plaque which they had mounted at the entrance to the reception area.

On this plaque was a lovely sketch of Ronnie which will be a reminder to us all of such a lovely character.

Seeing this will make everybody smile when they walk past and remember this cheeky character.

After the unveiling, we planted a lovely shrub and lit tea lights as a further reminder to the never ending memory of Ronnie.

To end the afternoon, we were taken on a tour of the new bunny unit which is almost finished but which, without the support of the local people of Trafford, would not have been possible.

I do hope that people will go along to the events at the sanctuary and help them to continue their fantastic work for the community. They work tirelessly to help the abandoned animals in their care and can only do this with the help and support from all of us.

I will never forget my day, especially knowing that there will be permanent reminders present for all to see of the care and dedication by the volunteers and staff at the sanctuary.

The way they made the burial of our last rabbit such a special event will be something that we will never forget.

This is my way of saying thank you for that very special day, to all of the volunteers and staff who make it such a caring environment for all those animals.

If ever an animal rescue deserved the support it is this one. Keep up the good work.
