I DO not share Cllr Alan Mitchell’s confidence that regular patrols of car parking attendants are dealing adequately with parking problems in the area around St Hugh’s Primary School (Messenger, February 12).

Where I live on Brookfield Avenue there is a constant blocking of the junction at Park Road by vehicles parking on the double yellow lines.

By no means all are parents dropping and picking up school children.

Many are using the shops and are too idle to find a legal parking location.

This has been going on for years and despite protests to the council and promises of visits by attendants, nothing changes.

I think frequent unannounced visits to the area should be made.
