I WAS appalled to read in the Messenger ('What a load of Rubbish') of the bad mannered attitude not only of the refuse collectors but also of the office employee who Mr Derek Brown spoke to for advice.

For individual workers to be given authority to aqgressively quote health and safety regulations is offensive enough but it is unacceptable if it is to avoid performing their duties.

All council employees should be reminded that their jobs are totally dependent on the high council taxes we the public pay them.

It's not a charity nor voluntary work and to be addressed as in 'work-house' times is objectionable. We are, in effect, customers and ought to be treated accordingly.
