Increases surely give taxpayers rights over money

THE escalating increases in council tax, surely give taxpayers the right to that the money raised is spent carefully and prudently.

The Conservatives just before the recent elections trumpeted the improvements made in road surfaces and footpaths.

The recent resurfacing of Walton Rd in Sale I hope is not a sample of these improvements.

The contractor started the resurfacing in atrocious weather resulting in what can only be described as a laughable surface,if not for the danger it posed.

The highways dept for Trafford allowed this contractor to patch the road from one end to the other, the surface still has gouges ,holes, and a surface that will not stand the test of time.

The pavements and roads in Sale are never resurfaced to a quality that people can admire, but costs play an important part in these decisions, but to pay a contractor to resurface a road, and then leave it in a condition worse than when they started is a disgrace, someone not the taxpayer should pay the price of failure.
