THERE has been a high turnover of restaurants in Hale and Altrincham and changes in taste and location do have an impact.

I checked today the menu prices of a number of restaurants for my elderly mum and was astonished that some were charging higher prices than in the expensive parts of London.

A bowl of Singapore noodles as a side dish at more than £10 is ludicrous and may well mean that people are going to a better-rated restaurant 50 yards away where they serve a sumptuous two-course lunchtime feast for less than £10.

If a restaurant wants to succeed, it has to provide world-class service and cuisine at a price people will pay.
