ALONG with thousands of others, I attended a Stop Brexit march in Leeds on March 24.

Events also took place in Edinburgh and in many other cities and towns across the UK; all demonstrated the growing popular feeling that the Government must be made to realise that the pursuit of Brexit at any cost is not in the interests of our country.

The events were not given much coverage, and so complaints are in hand!

It is becoming more and more clear that the objectives in leaving the EU cannot be achieved: the attempt to limit immigration is leading to the loss of vital health service and agricultural workers, trade deals with other countries would play second fiddle to existing EU trading agreements and inevitably lead to poorer quality food not subject to EU regulations, fishing rights are unlikely to be extended and jobs and workers’ rights would be lost in new, deregulated arrangements.

Our future is with our fellow Europeans in this period of growing instability in the world.

We need to take back control of this futile and nonsensical situation and press for the opportunity to vote to remain in the EU!
