HAVING been involved with the Altrincham Festival for more than 27 years, I have decided to step down as chairman.
I want to thank the many charities that have been with me and the wonderful voluntary work that they do.
Our sponsors have been an asset and, without their support, we could not have been as successful.
Thanks to all the festival committee members, who have worked hard in difficult times and the thousands of voluntary hours they have put in over this time, including the parade which is a major part, and the showground which has showcased many different acts for the public.
Thank you to the general public who have supported us each year, as it has always been my wish to make it a family fun day and I believe we did achieve this.
Thanks also to regular sponsors as part of our events Dance Shows, Garrick theatre, Kaleidoscope, and The Railway for hosting our Quiz, The Sequence dance not forgetting the Rosebuds and Festival Queens
Thanks to our festival patron, Carole, for her dedicated support to the festival which was appreciated.
Pam and I have great memories from our time with the festival which will stay with us for ever
Thank you all.

Ex chairman
