HATE-crime has no place whatsoever in our society.
The cowardly attack in Hale on a greatly respected Muslim surgeon and Imam is appalling.
Such hate must be defeated by our willingness to build bridges of friendship and trust with people from other faith communities.
Fear and ignorance are the real enemy. We easily forget that Muslim doctors and surgeons work day and night saving lives in our hospitals.
Their contribution to the NHS is immense. Altrincham has worked hard to build good inter-faith relations, but clearly there is much more still to be done.
