RECENT correspondence in support of leaving the EU is surely running against the tide of public opinion as it is becoming clear that Brexit is a direct result of the worst case of mis-selling since PPIs.

I hope politicians will work together on this issue, but to prevent this country from following a pointless and dangerous route to political and commercial insignificance, which would leave all but the very rich impoverished financially and culturally.

As with appeasement before the Second World War, a majority opinion (slight in the case of the EU referendum) can be revised when the harmful consequences of a course of action become all too apparent.
