I THINK Mr Peters (letters June 1 car parking ' 'It's a cunning plan') is thinking along the right lines, in that the council see Altrincham as the site for a film.

I think though, that he has it wrong in being a Spaghetti Western: what it will be, is a Post-Apocalyptic Zombie Film.

We have all the right ingredients: empty shops, heavily damaged roads throughout the town, two devastated sites, the old hospital and the Y.W.C.A. on Ashley Road.

We have a population wondering what will happen next, and most importantly,we have the Zombies. These will,of course,be played, without any training,by our Council.

They fit the definition of Zombies exactly: moving around mindlessly, causing trouble wherever they go: heedless of who, or what, they destroy.

Such a film could be made on an extremely low budget (apart from what the councillors would want in pay),and perhaps the profit could be used to make Altrincham into what it once was - a thriving town.
