I AM saddened to read of the demise of the Worthington Park full-time gardener.
I would like to thank all the gardeners, past and present, and all volunteers who have loved and tended this beautiful park over the years, since Mary Worthington bequeathed it to the community in 1901.
I used to take my son’s dog there and he could hardly contain his excitement as we approached it. He knew the way well enough. Try driving with a wriggling dog on the back seat!
He loved it there.
Now he is no longer with us but I have lovely memories of a happy dog in one of my favourite places – Worthington Park, Sale.

Timperley
