Who is responsible for what can only be described as the ‘chainsaw massacre’ of the once beautiful rhododendron bushes that once graced the walkways of Davyhulme Park?

For decades these impressive shrubs have provided an oasis of calm and tranquillity in an increasingly frenetic world.

Now they have been decimated and will probably never recover.

Visitors to the park will also be shocked to note the once glorious flowerbeds have been neglected almost to extinction, not to mention the graffiti-scarred signs and noticeboards.

This municipal vandalism is a disturbing trend that appears to be spreading in parks all over the area.

Who decided to replace dedicated gardeners with chainsaw butchers?

It might be a good idea if local councillors got off their collective backsides and did something about this scandal before the whole area is turned into a wasteland.
