FROM June 2017 Trafford Council are proposing to charge us £40 (£35 if done online) to empty garden waste from our green bins.

They say it is because people without gardens are complaining about subbing the rest of us.

So if we take this a bit further, then I should get a rebate because I don't use the libraries or schools.

I have no trees in my garden but because I am surrounded by very, very mature trees in Moss Park, Stretford, my green bin is full of leaves every week from August to November.

So it is me that should be charging Trafford to collect their leaves.

There will still be a weekly green bin collection for kitchen waste so there will be no savings there but there will be an increase in 'bin police' to check we are not putting our garden waste in out grey bin, so where are the savings.

In an online consultation in December 2016 (yes, they always do such things like this when we are busy preparing for Christmas) 82.2 per cent objected to this green bin tax. I have been in touch with my three local councillors who say the Torys just 'rubber-stamped' this green bin tax through.

Democracy? Last year 52 per cent of us voted to leave the EU, so we are leaving the EU, now 82.2 per cent vote against a green bin tax and they totally ignore us.

So, come May 2017 let us have a revolution & vote the Tories out.
