I WAS wondering if anyone else noticed something different on a Friday morning, in Lostock Road. I certainly did and it was one of the most amazing sights that I have seen in the Past 23 years of living on this road.

Normally after waking I always take a look outside, The view has rarely changed over the years, only the weather is different.

On January 27 I saw something I have never seen before. Fridays are bin collection day, with ours being first thing in the morning. I am normally still in bed as they empty the bins.

I heard them and half an hour or so later I looked out and saw that the bins that I had put out had been placed back in front of my property side by side. Usually I have to retrieve them from elsewhere along the road, with neighbours bins being in front of mine.

This had not just occurred at my house but all along the road. Normally bins are scattered all over the place.

Is this a one off, or have the refuse collectors been asked to leave them neat and tidy? I hope its the latter and that it lasts.

Its only a minor improvement but it does make an area look a lot tidier on bin days, as many bins are only taken off the streets later in the evening when people return home from work.

Lets hope it continues.
