(RE: Closed road sparks anger, Messenger January 19).
ALTHOUGH HIMOR says the road - between Isherwood Road and Birch Road, Carrington - is closed, it is clearly not closed to MUFC employees, footballers, delivery personnel, postal workers and parents bringing their children to football practice at the MUFC training complex.
I cycle the route regularly and have seen no evidence of fly-tipping.
This action is a 'sledgehammer to crack a nut'.
The situation reminds me of school. Whenever a pupil misbehaved, and the pupil couldn't be identified, then the whole class was punished. A very lazy approach to problem solving!
The argument about alternative routes is absolute rubbish. Reaching the Trans-Pennine trail from Flixton via Carrington necessitates cycling along the A6144, another road very busy road with HGVs.
