My sister, Lynda, and I want to thank sincerely some very kind and lovely people who stopped to help her when she fell on Chassen Road, Urmston, on Saturday afternoon, August 27.

You were Sally, your husband and son, whose names I don’t know, and Martin and Rick. You helped Lynda off the road and one of you even ran home for a chair for her.

You, Sally, kept her warm with your blanket and scarf. You all kept her spirits up and you made her feel safe.

You also called for an ambulance, which came very quickly. Lynda was taken to Salford Royal Hospital, where, after almost a week, it was found she had a broken and displaced hip.

She had a full hip replacement operation on Monday September 5 and is now up and about with a walking frame.

We expect her home hopefully in a few days. Again, we cannot thank you all enough. And Sally, thank you for your card – Lynda now has her glasses back with new lenses.

What stars you all are!
