AS a resident of Sale living close to the traffic mayhem on the main road / Park Road fiasco, can someone in Trafford Council's highway department, explain what the final outcome of the change of traffic flow will be?

Whilst completely understanding the need for pedestrian road safety, particularly with recent sad events, I cannot for the life of me understand why the lanes appear to be being left reduced to one lane only going towards Altrincham.

The pedestrian island is in the centre of the road causing the traffic bottle neck for as far as the eyes can see towards Sale. Is this a single lane here now permanently?

If you are trying to join the main Chester Road from Chestnut Drive in the mornings, forget it.

I thought the road to turn left into Park Road was going to be widened where there is an expanse of paving at the front of the shops.

Now that the kerbs and barriers are in place, that does not appear to be the case.

Please don't tell us all that the road to Altrincham is one lane only from now, if so, whoever came up with that idea should be sacked.

There must have been a better way of re-designing the road layout than how it looks to be now. I no longer use my car to go to Altrincham or the M56, it's utter chaos. I go round the opposite way which also takes forever, but at least I'm moving.

I walk where I can now, and the amount of times car horns are sounded in frustration and driver antics observed is no joke, this in itself must be a road hazard.
