How naive of me!

Stupidly, I thought democracy was more-or-less everybody having an equal vote on a topic and then the side with the most votes, the majority, won!

Had I known before the EU referendum that, in reality, about eight votes for Remain seemingly out-votes ten votes for Leave then I might have queried the process with the adjudicators at the Polling Station.

But, with the Remain camp, the minority, still determined to scupper the result despite not having had as many votes as the Leave camp, that seems to be what is happening.

I’ve heard idiots suggesting that the Leave voters “hadn’t thought it through” or “didn’t know what they were doing” so not only did my vote apparently carry less weight than a vote for Remain, I’m apparently also too thick to make a considered judgement!

Should the result not stand, if we have another referendum and it is won by the Remain camp, I will, obviously follow the same, by then well-worn, path of demanding a third referendum, and then a fourth, if necessary, whilst also doubting the intelligence of those who voted to remain!

Or is the whole idea to keep having referendums until we get the result our political masters want, as happened in Ireland a few years ago?

And all the while the rest of Europe is laughing at us.
