LIKE many people in the Sale area, I am having to put up with the awful road congestion, particularly at Brooklands station, Springfield Road and Park Road lights Timperley.

It appears that Sale is being ring fenced by road works. No work appears to be taking place except the erection of barriers.

Enquiries of responsible bodies, ie Trafford Council, to try and establish start and completion dates met with the following responses:

Being transferred to a call centre partner in Liverpool, the operative having no knowledge whatsoever as to what was happening in Sale.

A further phone call to the Council and an adviser stated you voted them in so what do you expect? A quite amazing response.

But I did manage to establish I should talk to someone from Amey. Two phone calls and no response.

Fortunately a phone call to Mr John Holden, a Tory councillor, met with an excellent response. He is at present looking into the matter.

When one considers the cost to the general public and businesses, we should expect a better level of service. After all, what do we pay our council taxes for, at the very least keep us in the loop as to what is happening?
