I am very distressed and disturbed to hear that the Environment Minister, Liz Truss, is likely to lift the ban on the bee-killing pesticides (Neonicotinoids) for some crops this summer.

She is giving in to pressure from the lobbyists from the big pesticide companies who have so much influence (and money!).

To lift this ban would be very dangerous for our already depleted bee population and will damage many people's livelihoods as well.

We must make a stand and make sure our bees are protected by keeping the ban in place. Also, we must attempt to do our part by planting bee-friendly seeds this summer in our gardens and window boxes.

If the bee population continues to decline at this significant rate, it will severely impact on us all, especially pollination levels, which are vital for future plant growth and food production.

Most of these pesticide companies will be happy for us all to have to rely on genetically modified foods, which will further improve their profits!

Please support the future of our bees by opposing the use of these bee-killing pesticides, contact your MP to let your views be known.

Yours sincerely,

Elizabeth Miller
