I HAVE just been reading the article regarding the downgrading of Trafford general Hospital and, in simple terms, it’s a joke.
We live local to the hospital and see so many ambulances with lights flashing passing the hospital to then get stuck on the horrendous M60.
There are so many hours during the day when the motorway is at a standstill with emergency vehicles trying to get to their destination.
I cannot understand the logic. It is putting lives in danger when minutes are critical when there is someone in the back of a ambulance
Sat on the M60 at rush hour.I have spoken to paramedics who say there are not enough A&E departments and they have to find a slot at a hospital to take a patient that they have on board, and Trafford General is sat there empty at busy periods.
I understand it is all about money but patient care must come first and it certainly is not the case with this.
