I attended the consultation at Sale Moor Methodist Church about the proposed foodstore in Sale Moor Village.

I and thousands of others are totally against this and cannot believe we are being potentially 'betrayed' by Trafford Council and their desire to 'do a deal' with anyone over this and with the developer having registered a company - Kirkland Properties (Sale Moor) as far back as 12 months ago it seems the council have purposely kept quiet about this.

How many times must the people of Sale Moor have to come and oppose this? The Conservatives are supposed to be in on the side of small businesses (a nation of shopkeepers Mrs Thatcher once called Britain) and Labour are supposed to be on the side of working people!

Yet they are both washing their hands of Sale Moor.

A few people have suggested standing as independent councillors in the Sale Moor ward in May as this is an election issue and also there was talk of someone standing against Sean Anstee in his ward.

I hope this happens.

Clearly there is much anger here and if councillors refuse to listen to the public on this one ultimately they will pay the price at the ballot box.
