Here we go again (ref ‘Injured cyclist wants action over parking’ October 15 edition) - one cyclist and two near fatal accidents due to traffic, whether stationary or speeding.

On our crowded island there are excess inhabitants / motor vehicles already, now with a dire shortage of housing for even the indigenous population, politicians welcome a flood of refugees!

However, cars can be culled by hiking tax and insurance but never enough to clear roads of parked vehicles. Highways are for moving traffic not car parking.

Few use wide four lane motorways as a car park or race track but perversely the narrower the road, the more likely this occurs. Many streets have vehicles parked on both sides with barely space between for any vehicle to pass by - stupid or dangerous?

Presumably cars parked outside schools belong to underpaid teachers - whatever happened to legs, bicycles and public transport?

I doubt if road markings or lollipop signs will ever be properly heeded, only a policy of zero tolerance everywhere with stringent penalties for transgression might register.
