WHY are we not giving sanctuary to more Syrian refugees fleeing from terror and war?
This is a humanitarian crisis that is quite distinct from the politics of immigration and needs an immediate response.
The Government must change its policy. Generous, compassionate action will enable our fantastic voluntary sector to work with local authorities and welcome refugees in towns and cities across the country. It can be done.
If the Prime Minister is to change his stance then he has to be convinced that this is what most British people want. Please tell him.
