THE charity Beating Bowel Cancer will be holding a Patient Day in Manchester on November 21 for bowel cancer patients and their families and carers.

I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2014 and I will be there to take full advantage of the event, which offers those affected by the disease the chance to come together for a day of support and learning.

The event, which will take place at the Education Centre of the Christie Hospital, will include workshops and presentations on advances in treatment for bowel cancer, the psychological and emotional effects of a cancer diagnosis, managing the side-effects of treatment, including regaining bowel control, and much more.

I’d encourage anyone who is affected by bowel cancer to join me by signing up for the day. This is your chance to meet Beating Bowel Cancer nurse advisors and staff and of course people who share your experience of living with bowel cancer

The event is free but places are limited and must be booked in advance, so sign up soon at www.beatingbowelcancer.org/patient-day-manchester-2015

I hope to see you there.
