WHAT has happened to Sale swimming baths?
Recently, I had occasion to take my granddaughter swimming at Sale Leisure Centre.
Before moving from the area I used to take my children there every week and remember having lots of fun swimming myself in the old Sale Baths, which were on the same site.
On arriving I was shocked to see the state of the changing rooms. There was rubbish on a floor which looked as if it has not been cleaned very often.
The lockers were broken and doors hanging off. Indeed, one did not have a door and most of the keys had no wristbands on them which made it nearly impossible to swim and not lose them.
The pool had marks all around the inside lip and again this looked like it needed an extremely good clean.
The shower area was also in need of attention as there was black mould on the grouting and again, litter was all around.
We stayed in the pool for about 15 minutes and then decided to leave as it was not an enjoyable experience.
All in all the experience was not a good one and I feel that this once enjoyable place lets Sale down. Something needs doing before it gets any worse.
