SALE is a thriving area and I just want to thank all our local organisations involved in Sale Festival which ran throughout June and Sale Arts Trail

This year we had more than 40 events across several venues in Sale involving drama, choirs, dance, Ashton and Sale groups' amazing floral demonstration, a successful beer festival, an exhibition of the history of Sale Festival, an award winning Irish film, Irish music and dancing, primary school choirs, Sale Choral Society and Trafford Youth and Sale Chamber orchestras, Mike Baker Sextet and our local Sale Brass Band, folk music and eight Halle cellists organised by the famous SallowTree chamber concerts.

In our parks, there were picnics, tea and brass bands and children's plays as well as bowling competitions,

the Lions funday and an astronomy evening.

At the local cricket club, bands raised funds for the Alex Hulme Foundation charity. There was also a golf tournament, Sale Photographic Society competition, Ashton Society of Artists exhibition, Sale Cruising Club parade of boats, a pub quiz night, a Sale Moor open allotments day and many more events.

In addition, I must mention Sale Arts Trail this past weekend with venues all across Sale exhibiting jewellery, paintings ceramic stone and wood carvings, textiles and digital arts.

With so many talented residents, it was inspirational to discover these amazing artists all living in Sale. Congratulations to the organisers.

Sale must have more artists, singers and musicians than any other town in the country. At least that’s how it feels after experiencing these past few weeks!
