I AM writing on behalf of the AGE UK Trafford Hale Silver Surfers to express our support for the proposal for the redevelopment of Hale Library and Community Hub prepared by Hale Community Trust, a new charity with business powers supported by Hale Civic Society, the Friends of Hale Library, Forward Construction Development, Hale Bowling Club, Hale Veterans Bowling Club and the Hale Older People’s Welfare Group.
AGE UK Trafford and our Silver Surfers use Hale Library daily and particularly on Wednesdays for the computer course.
If the Library goes it will be such a shame if we cannot offer all of these potential Silver Surfers the chance to update them into the IT world.
We need the IT facilities offered at the Library to continue.
We fully support the superb proposal and feel that its uniqueness and ambition to meet the expressed needs of the people of Hale and the surrounding area.
The delivery of a 6200 sq ft library and community hub on the site of the Cottage is well thought out and shows great commitment to involve community groups.
We endorse its partnership approach and sustainable business plan. With its robust governance arrangements we feel that the ideas and plans will have the ability to deliver a significant capital receipt to the council.
