I WAS astonished to read in their newsletter that the Brooklands Conservative councillors are trying to take some of the credit for the retention of the school crossing patrol at the Washway Road / Eastway junction.
Parents, children and staff from Tyntesfield Primary School fought tooth and nail to save our lollipop man. We were supported by Labour councillors, especially Louise Dagnall, by Trafford Residents Against Cuts (TRAC), and by Mike Kane MP.
We did not receive any support whatsoever from the Conservative councillors. In fact, only one of the three Brooklands councillors replied to my husband's email and her email was non-committal, to say the least.
How do they have the audacity to claim credit here when it was the Conservative group who put forward this ridiculous proposal to remove a lollipop man from one of the busiest roads in Greater Manchester?
