TRAFFORD Council should step back and look at the damage it is doing to children and families, with yet another austerity budget.
The proposals by Trafford Council to close its holiday play schemes, the remaining children’s centres and youth clubs, two of which are in Altrincham and Sale West, is a high risk strategy.
These centres provide much needed activities for children, keeping them safe and off the streets, preparing them for school, and providing support for many dealing with the pressures of family life.
Not all parents can afford private play facilities, and these proposals from Trafford Council will impact on some of the most vulnerable children in our communities.
Trafford Council is putting our children’s futures at risk – a risk that I for one am not prepared to accept.
I call on all parents to write to the leader of Trafford Council and object to this disgraceful attack on children.
