MAY I take this opportunity to thank all the committee members and helpers for their efforts in making the Friends of Broadway Park Family Fun Day such a tremendous success on Sunday, September 7 (as advertised in Messenger).
Their hard work in preparing for the event was rewarded by a huge turnout of families, and a visit by the deputy mayor of Trafford Cllr John Holden and his consort Christine.
Over the course of four hours of sunshine, we estimate that well in excess of 1,000 people joined us to enjoy the many attractions on offer.
Special thanks also to Trafford’s environment department, Trafford Leisure Trust, GMP and the many others organisations who made themselves available by putting stalls up on the day.
This event was by far the largest to have taken place on the park that we can ever remember, and to say a great day was had by all would be a gross understatement.
We look forward to organising similar events on the park in the future and look forward to the same fantastic public support we received on Sunday 7.
Cllr June Reilly.
Chairman, Friends of Broadway Park.
