IN response to Mandy Robinson who is appalled to learn St Paul’s Vicarage may be demolished, I can inform your readers that the purchase of the vicarage by the council and demolition this summer is a done deal and has been through all the necessary planning consent stages.
As a governor at Springfield Primary School and a local councillor I look forward to this land being handed to Springfield School, where in light of the school being expanded, we really do need the additional space it will provide, to enhance educational opportunities for local children for many years to come.
I for one am delighted at the foresight of the council to recognise the needs of the school, see the bigger picture and rightly invest in the future of the children of this borough.
Yours sincerely,
Mike Freeman
Labour Councillor for Sale Moor
