WHEN I first moved to Sale Moor three years ago, I was immediately impressed by how much people looked out for their community.

I don't necessarily mean in a 'neighbourhood watch' way, but the streets and parks were lovely and clean, and the the groups of youth I would occasionally encounter were not stereotypical gangs and were, in fact, just youngsters spending time together.

I thought I may have found my Shangri-La!

However, the 'powers that be' are ruining it.

The recent acquisition of Finglands by First Buses has been a disaster. Instead of a service which comes every 10 minutes for the 41 bus route, First Group now changed this to every 20 minutes.

They have continued to employ the old Finglands staff, but now operate with smaller buses. So frustrating!

I always thought it was strange that Arriva only run a bus service to the Trafford Centre every 30 minutes (perhaps the Trafford Centre doesn't want us to visit?) but First Group have taken this too far.

To make matters worse, the Metrolink line that is currently taking an age to construct is adding so much extra time on each and every journey due to its ever changing length of temporary traffic lights. Whoever has 'planned' this work could not care less about commuters, that much is clear.

Can the council intervene?
